Which tour are you looking for?
Quarry Critters Alpaca Ranch and Gift Shop offers 2 different tours.
One tour is Called the Backyard Self-guided Tour
Cost is $3.00 per person/ticket given or free with a $20 purchase per person from the Gift Shop. No schedule is needed for this tour just let the Gift Shop know you are interested. Remember to collect your ticket.
This tour allows you to walk down the fence line, pass the chickens to see the alpacas up close. The alpacas will not be happy with you putting your hand through the fence. They would much more like your nose and might give you a kiss. Pictures are allowed. Do not feed the alpacas.
Another tour is a Handler Guided Ranch Tour
Saturdays at 2:00-3:30
Allow about 1 1/2 hours, some of the tour is outside so dress for the weather, might need old shoes or boots. Walking is involved.

Where: QCAR 580 Basehoar Rd. Littlestown, PA 17340
Cost: $25 for the first 2 people, then $10 per person for additional people . Children under 2 years of age are free, and must be accompanied by a guardian/parent.
What: Here is what is included in the ranch tour.
- Visit alpacas with a guide
- Learn about the care and handling of alpacas.
- Touch an alpaca – “Oh they are so soft”
- Take a picture with an alpaca
- Keep in mind that these are show animals and need respect, and peace and quiet. Alpacas really don’t want to be touched or cuddled. Listen to your guide for the best hands on experience.
- Fiber Processing:
- See what happens to the fiber after it comes off the alpaca. We call this “Fiber Processing” Demonstrations can include skirting, carding, spinning and more. Hands on to feel the softness of the alpaca.
Alpaca Gift Shop
- What can you make with alpaca fiber? Visit the Gift Shop to see what is made from alpaca fiber.
The final leg of the tour is to visit the gift shop. The guide will point out different items from our farm that have been processed and ready to be sold to customers to use in their everyday lives. Lots of alpaca items make great gifts.
